After trying and failing to come up with a New Year plan, headed here for their Xmas themed Holiday Bar. They were out of a few items, 2 of which we tried to order, before finally asking what all they didn't have. I opted for the pork chop with blueberry balsamic and it was really good. I tried 2 of the special Xmas drinks and tasted the 2 my wife had. All of them were good. I'll probably stop in closer to Xmas for 2025 & embrace the spirit!
We stopped in for the final day of the Christmas Experience, which was set to go through 1Jan. The decor was excellent and the staff were dressed accordingly. There were several shots & seven drink options, 1 was already sold out. I'm pleased to say that the drinks were well-balanced, not too sweet & the prices were reasonable, ranging from $6-$21 for a "couples drink for 2". The TVs were playing Chris movies and there was Christmas music playing. Sadly, they were out of the pretzels, again (some day we'll snag one)... and there were no special menu items in the food department for Christmas... which would have been nice. We did try 2 new dishes (for us) - the pork chop with blueberry balsamic & the chicken pesto pasta. Both dishes were tasty and cooked correctly. The meat was juicy, always a risk with chicken breast & pork chops. If I were to say anything had room for improvement, maybe a lighter hand on the salt for the zucchini, but that's truly nitpicking. (I should point out that the regular cocktail menu here is good... don't be afraid to tell them what your flavor profile is and let them pick something for you!)
The food was delicious and very nice and fast service, the environment was very nice, overall 10/10 highly recommend
Bartender is far too bland of a description for the artisans at the Ironhorse Kitchen & Bar. These wizards of libation hand craft each cocktail like their very lives depended on the quality and presentation of it! Their deft handling of the tools of the trade assure near surgical accuracy of their ingredients as each adds their own signature flair. One can only watch with awe at the fervor and zealotry that goes into ensuring perfection. These guys mix drinks with the same care a mother has for her newborn baby! You know in the first sip that you're drinking a liquid work of art! While they're happy to make you the absolute best of your trusty standby drink, you'll do your palette a favor by stepping out of your comfort zone and letting them create something truly miraculous. I tried The Switchman Old Fashioned and it was absolutely spectacular!
Great gastropub on the heart of the old downtown. Excellent addition to the community. Serving staff was cheerful and outgoing. Answered our questions and made us feel welcome. Food is a bit upscale from the typical restaurants in the area. Had the chimichurri beef and fries with the house old fashioned. Both were made to perfection. I will be back.
